Ornamental fruiting tree, native of Central America and the West Indies.
FEATURES: Round fruit with shiny green or purple skin. The flesh is white, tinged with purple and divided into segments by.shiny, dark brown seeds. Flesh is soft, sweet and juicy to eat.
CONDITIONS: Suits fertile, well drained soil in an open, sunny position.
FOR BEST RESULTS: Best in subtropical climates. In temperate climates, plant by a north facing brick wall which reflects heat from the sun.
